The Millenium was a moving year -
I came to Truro............along with husband, 3 children & Flossie Dog (who was more a child than the rest!!)... In 2001 I took up life-drawing, along with Pastels & Watercolours, and joined a group of artists 'Taking Space', allowing me not only to exhibit my work all over Cornwall, but enjoy their good company & exchange of ideas. I often change mediums from inks, pastels, watercolours & mixed-media........letting the subject dictate which to choose.
I feel 'connected' here - whether its the landscape, the smell of the sea & sight of fishing boats or just the kiss of a breeze .......
I like the 'melting-pot' mix & the interaction between all the elements......you never quite know what the weather has in store! Painting is a lot like that for me too! Translating that blank piece of paper is still a process that remains magical - even if I can't always find the wand..........or the right spell! When I do, I wonder how I did it?.................
